Yesterday I was sitting in court for a ticket I got in September. The officer gave me impeding traffic rather than a speeding ticket so I won't get any points. However, I didn't think I was speeding because my mom was with me on the day the ticket was issued. She even remarked, ". .. .but you weren't speeding!" The amount of the ticket was $170!
It was three cases ahead of me, and I watched each of them as their names were called by the clerk got up to tell their side of the story. None of them was able to convince the judge that the officer that ticketed them was in the wrong. The judge sent them packing to pay their tickets on the way out.
When my name was called, I got up and approached the bench. I gave the judge the whole truth and nothing but the truth even though I'd been praying for Divine Favor. I asked for a reduction of the amount of the ticket and explained that my mother was in the car with me and we were on our to pay her light bill. The judge seemed to be sympathetic and reduced my fine from $170 to $75!
