What lovely gifts! That iron and toaster lasted until me and my sister were teenagers
THIS IS NOW....
Dad is now 77 and Mom is 71. I thank God that they both are still here. Dad retired from GM with 33 years and mom retired from the US Post office and she is a three time cancer survivor. She didn't have any chemo or radiation therapy. My God is goooood and He still isn't done.
Last Year .....
It was the day before Thanksgiving when I had to rush mom to the hospital....
All summer long she had been in and out of the hospital with two to three weeks stay per occurence. She had been staying with me and we hadn't been getting along. Usually when I take her they run tests and keep her in ER until a bed becomes available. But this particular day wasn't the usual. About an hour after I got home I got a phone call from the hospital. They wouldn't give me any information over the phone and for me to come back asap.
I called my sister and told her what was going on and she said that she would call the hospital back and speak to someone and then she would call me back. About 15 minutes later my sister called me back and told me that the nurse she had spoken to said that all her vitals were failing----her heart, lungs and kidney. Oh my goodness, nooo!! I rushed to my sister's house and picked her up and two of my nephews and we drove to the hospital. When we got to the ICU we saw the doctor who was in charge of my mom. The doctor told us that my mom was on a ventilator and the next 48 hours was crucial. If she doesn't improve, what should they do? Of course we agreed that we would keep her on the ventilator for as long as possible.
When I finally got home I immediately got on my knees and repented and cried out to the Father. I told God if He would heal my mother I would apologize to her and ask her to forgive me for all the crap I put her through while she was living with me. I cried and prayed til I couldn't anymore.
My sister called the hospital twice a day for the next 48 hours, and each time she called my mother's vitals were improving! By Sunday, my mother was sitting up stirring her tea waiting to be moved out of ICU!!! She was still a little weak but she look good. Just like I promised God, I gave a relieved, happy and heartfelt apology and I asked my mother to forgive me. I let her know that those four days were the most horrific days in my life! She forgave me, and all was well. Glory to God!!!
God also spared my father after an alcholic seizure a couple years ago. He had been drinking heavily and had been rushed to ER in an ambulance. My father was very incoherent, he didn't even recognize me. For a about a month my dad couldn't could barely walk and talk. But God healed my dad and now he is definately back to his old self. I praise God for his endless mercy. I thank God because my parents are still here in the land of the living. ~ Blessings
