Doctor's Report

 Monday, I had a doctor's appointment for my six months follow up.   I asked about changing my asthma medication because I feared that my present medication had too many steroids hindering me from losing weight.  Basically, Dr. Ross was like, "Don't even try it."
 Then he began to chuckle.  He said there wasn't enough steroids in my medication to cause weight gain.  It goes in the lungs.  Then he chuckled again.

At the end of my appointment, I got my flu shot and had two vials of blood drawn.

Tuesday morning, I got a call from my doctor and he said that the results from my blood work concerned him.  It showed that I had too much calcium and he wanted to know what I had been taking.  I told him that I had been having heartburn lately and I was chewing a lot of Tums.  He said he wanted me to come back in the office and have my blood drawn again.  I told him that I could come back in tomorrow.  He instructed  me not to eat anymore Tums and not to eat anything else with calcium in it.  I said ok that's fine.  But how come I was eating out of the ice cream carton at 1 am?

Thursday morning (today) my phone was ringing at 7:55 am.  My heart leaped in my chest not expecting a call so early.  I checked the caller ID and it was my doctor.  Taking a deep breath I answered as cool as I could.  Good news he said.  My blood was normal.  He don't know what could have caused the calcium to be so high.  He asked me what else was I eating besides the Tums and I said ice cream.  He said no, it's usually not in the diet.  He said everything was fine and told me to have a good day and hung up.

Many, Lord my God,
    are the wonders you have done,
    the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;
    were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
    they would be too many to declare.
~Psalms 40:5
